Art teacher and artist from Argentina, based in Glasgow Mirella Martinez is an Argentinean painter and art teacher currently living in Glasgow. She studied fine arts in Buenos Aires and participated in different workshops and training for artists and teachers in that city. While working as an art teacher, she had solo and group exhibitions and participated in painting contests. In recent years in Glasgow, she has continued to work on her growth as an artist, studying creative printmaking at City of Glasgow College and contemporary art at Clyde College. Her landscape paintings are inspired by walks in natural places such as forests, jungles, and nature reserves, in Argentina, Brazil and recently in Scotland. The paintings with paths make a personal metaphor for those decisions and choices that take us through different physical and emotional places. The challenges Mirella seeks in her paintings are the uncertainty of continuing the journey without knowing the end, but at the same time, being able to appreciate the beauty of each moment in each step.
